So Jane Pratt is stepping down as editor in chief of Jane. Before founding Jane, Pratt was the editor of a certain influential magazine that inspired cultish devotion among a certain subset of my media-world friends.

I didn’t really become aware of the cult of Sassy until after the magazine’s unfortunate takeover by corporate goons. But I do own one issue from Sassy‘s prime—and the cover is an all-time classic, so I’ll post it here:
